Summary
What does this car say about you?
I bought mine on a budget so I got a red one. Most people see a shiny red sports car and think you're an idiot. But people who know their cars give you a lot of respect.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Doesn't matter what they think when they first see it - once they've been for a ride they are all convinced it's the best thing on four wheels.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, but only if I have enough money for a practical car and then this.
What are you likely to buy next?
BMW 530d - I need a more practical car now, plus a better mpg. Finally, the S2000 isn't great on the motorway, far too much wind noise from the roof.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£9,000
When did you buy the car?
February 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I used to own a 1.6 Focus found it very boring and common. So I wanted something fast, fun to drive and best of all not many people know about!
What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Phenomenal. In my opinion it doesn't need traction control or any electrical stability wizardry, it's just an exceptionally tidy well balanced drive. On the down side: watch the tread on the rear tyres, things get a bit hairy in greasy conditions when that's worn. To really exploit the V-tech you need to be on a track or on a winding mounting road, in a straight line, you're going illegally fast very quickly.
What's it like to park?
Easy as anything else. It's quite short the and the mirrors are wide (little or no blind spots).

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Recently a bit of a rattle from the exhaust, but other than that it runs immaculately for a car of it's age.
What's most practical about your car?
For the exceptional performance it offers, it's surprising just how good the economics are when driven sensibly. I happily use this car to commute to work.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Getting the roof down so you can have a good listen to that awesome engine can't be beaten. Other than that it really is limited on toys.
