Summary
What does this car say about you?
Someone who knows how to get an exiting and reliable sports car for £8k.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Who cares! Older and more sensible boy-racer I think.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Definitely. And for a younger person this would be a fine "only car". For us more mature types, it is the ideal second car, certainly the exact opposite of my diesel Shogun. I cannot imagine any modern car depreciating less than a low mileage well-cared-for 2004-2006 S2000.
What are you likely to buy next?
Good question. I have always loved straight six BMW engines and other more characterful engines. The Z4 did not seem sporty enough. With more cash available, I would probably visit Porsche dealer.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£8,750
When did you buy the car?
February 2013
Did you get a good deal and why?
Private was OK, but Honda Redhill, Surrey, were shockingly bad. I bought the car by telephone unseen and had it delivered to Bristol, assuming I could rely 100% on a Honda main-dealer. MOT only had 2 weeks to run, had not been serviced, one wheel badly corroded. Honda UK were great and Honda Bristol sorted it out. Unfortunately we did not realise that one wheel was a 2007 model until the car spun when on the limit.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted the best reliability I could get in a fast 2 seater convertible.
What was the dealer like?
Shockingly bad and I complained to Honda UK who kindly helped out.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Really exiting on A + B roads, fine on motorways if a bit noisy compared to BMW equivalents etc (but who cares). Sounds boyish, but my favorite trick is shocking passengers when the revs rocket through 7000-9000 and they think we are going to take off or explode, and it's all done in complete safety.
What's it like to park?
Easy to kerb and bump, as any car this shape.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No, absolutely reliable so far.
What's most practical about your car?
Nothing really, as an everyday car! But surprisingly, on a 300 mile journey it is comfortable enough for non-stop driving, the fuel tank will last the 300 miles and returns 34 mpg with steady cruising 75-80mph. Headlights are excellent, heating + aircon too.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
There are no options or accessories! The acceleration, gear change and engine note are all great fun, especially 3rd gear which is where the fun is on winding roads.
