Honda Shuttle 2.3i LS 5d Auto (1999/V) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Last models went for £16,500 new, £15k pre-reg, so relatively good value (for a new car) but still depreciates £2k p.a.
Costs
Very little maintenance required - I do it myself; lifetime timing belt; oil required at 9k miles, I do it at 5k.

On the road
Driving
For the bulk and height, it's fast and handles well; suspension is better than my Mercedes 500SEL - honestly.
Performance
150bhp VTEC; runs in around 20k miles; nippy; accelerates to 80mph.

Reliability
Hondas made in Japan like this are the most reliable cars; a NY taxi and top US MPV in their reliability stats; no problems at all; ATF changes at 50k miles; engine can do 350k before engine/gearbox failure.
Image
Looks like an estate car.
Comfort
Excellent suspension; Previa has top load space with underseat engine giving rear luggage space with 3 rows of seats.

Security and Service
Security
Electronic deadlocks with transponder key, so good, but no alarm.

Jap-made Honda are top for reliability.
