Hyundai Accent Coupe 1.3 Si 3d (1995/M) Owner Review

Economy
Value
For £1,000 I got a lot of car for the money, fantastic. Although I was very surprised to find no power steering.
Costs
Not the cheapest car to insure for a first car. The 38 MPG is debatable as it seems heavy on fuel at times. Apart from that, only had to spend money on mandatory factors such as MOT and tax etc.

On the road
Driving
When driving on dry roads the car seems to handle adequately, although every bump is felt from the road. There is a mass amount of body roll and the seats offer no side support. Driving in the wet can be very scary, needs to be driven with caution.
Performance
The engine needs encouraging at low end revs but soon picks up and is very surprising for a 1.3 engine.

Living with it
Reliability
It has never let me down up to now, starts first time and every time and the engine is still bullet proof.
Image
I've seen worse looking cars on the road. The coupe style body really does make this car stand out.
Comfort
Seems like a perfect fit for me, plenty of head room even for a 6 foot person.

Security and Service
Security
Standard, doesn't seem to be the hardest car to break into though.
Service
Service is through local garage.

Problems
Engine
Bullet proof! Still going very strong after 10 years!
Other
Had to replace cat con pipe. Electric window motors feel very 'flimsy', but windows still move up and down.
