Hyundai i20 Hatchback (2009 - 2014) 1.2 Classic 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I was looking for a first car that would be cheap to buy and insure. Obvious choices were the Ford Fiesta and the Volskwagen Polo. However, the Hyundai i20 option popped up out of the blue and I decided to give it a go. It's got Corsa-ish looks and looks a bit sportier after I stuck black wheel trims on it that I had purchased off eBay for £20.00.
It drives great, though the clutch does take some getting used to initially as it's lighter compared to other cars. I get an average of around 45mpg with my mixed city and motorway driving, which is good enough for me. I've never hit the 60 mark though, so I don't know what the official stats are on about!
The interior is pleasant and the speakers are actually pretty decent for a small and cheap car such as this.
One big bonus is the boot space - I don't believe no other "supermini" affords you the same amount of boot space as this car.
As previously mentioned, reliability is a strong point of this vehicle. Not a single issue has popped up since I've owned it, and it's had zero advisories on it's MOT since day 1.
If you're looking for a cheap car that's cheap to insure, then I would definitely recommend the i20. For me personally, I will be looking to upgrade in the near future as I am looking at 1.8/2.0's hot hatches.
How reliable do you find the car?
Reliability wise, you cannot go wrong. Only thing that has gone wrong on me during my ownership is the sun visor clips breaking.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
It's a 1.2 so I knew it wasn't going to blow me away. But it's got comfy seats, air con, aux, drives great and is cheap to insure and maintain.About their car
