Hyundai i40 Tourer (2011 - 2020) 1.7 CRDi Blue Drive Premium 5d DCT Owner Review

Used mostly for regular drives to Scotland, 900 miles return. Very comfortable, reasonable economy, very good load capacity. Smooth auto gearbox & consistent cruise control. Speed limiter used often because quiet diesel & fast pick-up can exceed speed limits without realising it in built up areas. Only problems experienced - electronics on satnav, lost address book and out of date map info. Battery will not charge unless there is a load on the alternator which has resulted in a flat battery, I leave side lights on now which has solved that problem. Auto tail lift can function when away from car, seems to be a too sensitive fob button, I removed this button, blanked the space and the problem hasn’t occurred since. On this and a previous i40 Hyundai will cover larger problems under warranty without question but refuse to consider small problems (broken door handle, chrome flaking off grill) and give BS replies putting blame on owner.
