Hyundai S-Coupe 1.5 MVTi 2d (1995/M) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Superb low cost introduction to performance cars.
Costs
Eats front tyres (6k miles), but cheap to maintain, fuel and insure.
-
On the road
Driving
Not a Ferrari, but more exciting than many cars much more expensive. Not fatiguing for long hauls, fun on a short blast. Handling is predictable if not perfect, enabling involving and enjoyable drive.
Performance
The turbo is great for overtaking and mid range acceleration. Beats almost any car in its insurance group, and emberasses most boy racer GTis. Very economical on long runs too.

Living with it
Reliability
No major problems in three years.
Image
Late models (like mine) are not bad looking, and really grow on you as an owner.
Comfort
Front is nice, good driving position, but limited headroom in the back.

Security and Service
Security
No-one nicked my one.
Service
Really excellent. Turners of Ipswich deserve awards.
