Infiniti G Convertible (2009-2015) boot space, practicality and safety
This Infiniti hasn’t been crash tested by Euro NCAP but it should perform well in an accident. It has multiple airbags plus seatbelt sensors. The only Infiniti to be crash tested, the FX, was awarded five stars and we expect this model to perform as well.
The biggest drawback is the limited engine line-up. There’s currently only one petrol – a 3.7-litre V6 which is thirsty. With the roof in place there’s a decent boot of 366 litres but with the roof down (Infiniti does not give figures when the roof is open) you’d be lucky to fit a couple of soft bags in the load space. When you put the roof down the side windows drop down automatically, but they don’t go back up automatically, which is a pain.
Normally the windows on luxury drop-tops glide up on their own accord without you having to flick the switches. The top takes 27.6 seconds to drop and 28.4 to go back into place – not the quickest.
