Isuzu Trooper 2.8 TD Citation 5d (1991/H) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
A very large amount of vehicle for the money.
Costs
Insurance was surprisingly cheap, parts can be pricey, otherwise running costs are no worse than a big car.
-
On the road
Driving
Heavy, but much easier to drive than expected. Parking is a doddle (compared to our old un- power assisted Savannah)
Performance
Flies when it [finally] hits the power band, excellent cruiser (quieter at 80mph than it is at 30).
-
Living with it
Reliability
Had a seized caliper on brake, otherwise perfect.
Image
Ok this isn't a fashion show, but it's utilitarian, ""one-up-from-a-tractor"" has a rugged charm of it's own, bit like a landy pickup but comfortable and reliable.
Comfort
Somewhat utilitarian, no frills but I've had worse.
-
Security and Service
Security
Need an immobiliser fitted (mine has after market job) insurance will be cheaper if it's thatcham approved.
Service
Wouldn't take an old 'un like mine to a dealer.
