Jaguar S-Type (1999 - 2007) 3.0 V6 SE 4d Auto (99) Owner Review

Bought as I have always liked the look of them, and needed to get NCB on insurance as have had company car for over 40 years. Had classic cars previously. I like to maintain my own cars where possible. Initially I thought the s type was very advanced compared to my previous cars.In reality it just has more electronics to go wrong. I bought it with faults deliberately. So in my ownership I have had to repair all the power window regulators. Replace the accelerator sensor. Bushings front and rear and osr door latch. Air con started leaking recently so that is a project over the winter. Sounds a lot of problems, but not really. Car was professionally converted to lpg about 10 years ago and gives me 30+mpg on motorway and about 24mpg around town for between 54 to 62p per litre.Car is my hobby so while ever it doesn't break the bank or submit to the dreaded sill rot it is a keeper.
