Summary
What does this car say about you?
Take your pick: "bold enough to be different"; "a patriot"; "don't like Audi or BMW drivers"; "Can't afford a Mercedes".
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Much indifference(but this is not necessarily a bad thing, in my view). It's sober and slightly anonymous looking but obviously quite smart.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Probably not - but only because I really want something bigger.
What are you likely to buy next?
Probably a second hand XJ or XF.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£7,500
When did you buy the car?
June 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
I was returning my last car and the (Mercedes) franchise dealer had this Jag as a part ex.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I like the styling, needed a small estate & the car was much cheaper second hand than equivalents from Audi, BMW & Mercedes
What was the dealer like?
Efficient

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Not as fast as it looks but quiet and refined, road holding and handling good; comfortable on long trips, no l/h footrest and no cruise control on my version reduces the comfort factor slightly.
What's it like to park?
Even with parking sensors it is not easy to park; don't know why but I find it harder to place accurately than any other car I have owned.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing has broken in 30,000 miles except the exterior temperature gauge.
What's most practical about your car?
Estate is long, but narrow. Split opening tailgate a boon. Also, as it turns out, the 4x4 system really makes a difference in winter.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Heated windscreen.
