Super handling, a refined ride and ample power. Just choose wisely. Has the cam belt and water pump been done? Have the glow plugs and thermostat been changed? Has the gearbox oil been changed? Is the car on matching tyres? Are there any suspension knocks? All of these are serious considerations before purchase especially for cars 10 years plus in age or over 50k. Realistically, budget for £1000 per year for scheduled maintenance plus unexpected costs.
All this said, find a good one and you will be very pleased. A car you actually look forward to driving everytime.
How reliable do you find the car?
Caliper slide pins can be problematic if not lubricated every 6 months leading to uneven and excessive pad wear. Not resetting the electronic park brake post pad change will also cause uneven wear and reduced handbrake efficiency on one side. Other than this check seals to reduce wind noise and help prevent leaks. Stop start is hit and miss especially if you do short runs. I keep it switched off. Before purchase check front and rear subframe for signs of rust. Some is normal. If you spot loads walk away.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
It is such a pleasure to drive fast or slow. The 3.0ltr diesel has a lovely torque band. I find normal drive with dynamic mode give the best shift option on the ZF 8 speed.About their car
