Jaguar XF Sportbrake (2012 - 2015) 3.0d V6 Premium Luxury 5d Auto Owner Review

In their own words
In my opinion this is one of the best cars Jaguar has ever produced in recent times. The engine is absolutely superb being ultra quite and all the power I need plus very economical, with long journeys achieving 45/50 mpg. It has also been virtually trouble free. I normally exchange my cars every 2/3 years but with the present uncertainty with the future regarding EVs etc, I intend running it into the ground and have no qualms in doing this and fully confident that it will achieve very high mileage. Before the pandemic I traveled about four times per year from Norfolk to Bristol and still managed to feel fresh at journeys end. At present there is very little sign of wear and tear, particularly the interior. I am fortunate to have a Jaguar specialist nearby that keeps servicing costs to a minimum but other than a minor water leakage in the boot, that required a boot vent to be re-sealed (common fault) it has not cost me anything other than normal service items in 52000 miles. The intratainment system is disappointing and costs an outrageous amount to update the SatNav, cheaper to buy a TomTom if it's essential but that's my only complaint. I personally believe that the series 2 version of the Mk1 XF is better than its 2015 replacement enjoying, in my opinion, superior interior quality and is every bit as good, if not better, than equivalent German cars available, particularly how it drives. I can fully recommend a used XF but only with the 3.0 litre diesel and not the 2.2 four cylinder version. I previously owned a 2012 XF 2.2 saloon and was disappointed, particularly as its fuel consumption was not as good as my 3 litre and constantly had to override the auto transmission to prevent the engine from labouring, also sounding like a muted Transit. The Sportbrake Premium Luxury that I own is a good choice, having all the equipment you need including such items as keyless entry, electric adjustable and heated leather seats etc. Overall I am exceptionally pleased and to its testimony, I have never owned a car for so long since my first car in 1968. Even without the present uncertainty for IC engine cars, I would be extremely reluctant to part with it as I enjoy driving it so much.
