    What's it like to drive?

Fantastic car to drive. This is the last of the XJs, and it will probably be remembered less than fondly by future motorists, who will always remember the awesome V12 coupe of the 70s which could do maybe 12 mpg, but reward you with 143mph flat out. My lovely late model XJ6, with it's super lightness can go to 145mph. This is a great 'era' of Jaguars to buy into. They're aluminium, FFS, what'll they do, rust?

    What's it like to park?

Easy. It's got power steering. Plus, it's light. Plus, it's got front and rear sensors. It's a fifteen foot long wedding limo (in some territories. we reserve the right to claim the XJ6 as a sporting tourer/GT) and I can't imagine ease of parking will be a massive thing with potential XJ6/8 buyers...

Have you had any problems with the car?

Not especially. An 'engine warning' amber dashlight which doesn't seem to mean anything, and an occasionally sticky O/S handbrake cable, but apart from those, 20000 miles and no real problems.

What's most practical about your car?

This car is designed for crossing continents. To American drivers, it's 3 litre V6 might look paltry, but the aluminium body of this car means that the (admittedly Ford designed) V6 can propel it way beyond 140mph. 145 to be exact. Who needs a turbo? This car looks every penny of 40 grand, and can carry 5 people in whisper quiet, climate controlled comfort and still make an average of 27mpg. Average. Last year I drove 721 miles, from Ayr to Bristol and back, in 13 and a half hours in this car, and it was ready to do it again the next day.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

6 disc CD changer AND CD player in the cabin, heated screen/mirrors, heated seats, trip computer, interior lighting, too many to list.
