What does this car say about you?

Not fussed about practicality or fuel efficiency. Just wants a large 4 door saloon that is comfortable, quick and fun to drive.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They like it and often comment on its comfort and how nice the interior is. They think it still looks fairly new considering it was made in 2003.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Without hesitation. The XJ is a well balanced car and I love the way it drives. Its still a good looking car even compared to the new jags.

What are you likely to buy next?

A Jaguar of some sort but unsure of which one. An XF would be nice or a supercharged XJ x350 or maybe a 4.2 XK (x150), if i could afford them. No plans to get rid of my XJ just yet.

    What's it like to drive?

A dream! Although its got the V6 engine its still a quick car. On motorways it will cruise effortlessly in supreme comfort and return reasonable mpg (about 29-35). In town it gets a bit thirsty (15-20mpg). Maneuvering round town isn't an issue as long as you don't try and drive in very small spaces. Considering the size of the XJ it's surprisingly agile and is a lot of fun to drive especially on country roads. It is a very engaging car to drive while still being incredibly comfortable and quiet. The engine sounds good once you get the revs up.

    What's it like to park?

It's no Ford Fiesta but easy enough, parking aids such as front and rear sensors and dipping mirrors do help. The only complaint is that too long for the average parking space meaning either the nose or tail overhangs, even on the SWB model. You do get used to it though.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Airbag cassette module needed to be replaced, car was bought with that fault.

What's most practical about your car?

Large fuel tank means there are less trips to the fuel station. The boot is a good size as long as you don't carry any tall items, it's a bit shallow.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Lively V6 engine, sunblind, sunroof, corded telephone, Sat Nav, CD changer. Alpine sound system.
