Jaguar XJ Saloon (2003 - 2009) XJ8 4.2 V8 Sovereign 4d Auto Owner Review

In their own words
I love my Jag, I like the way it sounds when I start it, I like all the heated bits like seats, even in the back, the front screen, the rear screen, the mirrors all make it no problem on a frosty day. I love the way it drives, I love its power, I can drive it slow and sedately and it's like being in a big armchair, or I can turn the music up, (Alpine upgrade a must) press the sport button disengage EPS and it suddenly transforms into a bucking bronco, awesome.
I guess you are getting the picture, I just love it, downside with the last ones made is that they are in the high tax bracket so £500 + per year for road tax, but when you break it down it's a tenner a week to drive the car I always wanted, I much prefer this model to the new shape otherwise I would have bought a newer one.
If you are looking at buying one of these, get one with only a few owners and with full service history from Jaguar dealers or Jaguar specialists.
Good Luck
How reliable do you find the car?
The compressor for the air suspension gave up and I started to get warning messages on the dash, the car went into some sort of safe mode and the suspension became very firm, but all sorted with a new compressor, I sourced one direct from the manufacturer for £249 all in, same thing from jaguar was £450 so it was worth a little investigation.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
I have wanted a V8 Jaguar ever since I can remember, I ended up with the right colour combination, with exactly the spec I wanted, and am very happy, it is too big to park in Supermarket car parks, you need a big space on the road to park it and it's no good for taking the kids to school, but I didn't buy it for shopping or parking on the road or running the kids around. I have a little car to do all that in.About their car
