Jaguar XK Coupe (2006 - 2014) 4.2 V8 2d Auto Owner Review

In their own words
Previously owned xj s1, 2 & 3 also s types s1 3l v6 and recently 2006 s type 4.2 V8 sports (very nice) Bought the xk as a 55th b'day prezzie for me, after lots of research, went for an early 2006 model as it seems they got this car right from the start. Not had the car long but for what you can buy one for (around 7k) they are fantastic value. Keep about £600 aside for any unforseen issues but the engine is bulletproof so long as you change the oil fairly regularly and keep on top of things. Its the most amazing car I've owned, press the start button and you are greeted with a primeval growl of jag power, select drive, gently press the throttle and its like driving a luxury 2 seater (the back seats are tiny, but you can squeeze an adult in there at a push). Select sport and give it some - it will put a smile on your face that a good embalner would struggle to remove as they laid you to rest. Service history is good but don't be too put off if some of it is independently done, there are a lot of good indies out there and, as previously stated, the engine is very, very robust! Yes the can be niggles with electrics but they are generally minor, and what used car doesn't have niggles?! It looks like a millionaires car even at 13 yrs old and u will smile and pinch yourself every time you walk up and press the unlock button. Practical... Not really Beautiful... Absolutely At 7 to 8k its not going to depreciate enough to matter and if looked after I believe its possibly an investment in the longer term. You just can't buy looks and performance like this for such stupidly low money. Drawbacks: be prepared for embarrassingly excessive attention and compliments, (it does honestly get a bit much). Jaguars finest moment, Buy one!
