Jaguar XK Coupe (2006 - 2014) 4.2 V8 2d Auto Owner Review

In their own words
I would recommend anyone buying an XK to pay for a decent used car warranty, They are old cars now and things will go wrong. So far, the air conditioning compressor has been changed and the pedestrian detection system replaced, The two cost some £1300 together and were covered by the warranty. Also, although the bodies are aluminium, check the suspension and subframe for rust, I have spent £1000 on replacement suspension parts. These items were wear and tear and not covered by the warranty. The car has just passed it's M.O.T but advisories were corrosion on the subframe (£2250 to replace) and advisories on the rear disc brake and a shock absorber. Although you can buy reasonable XKs for around £12,000 be prepared to spend some serious sums on keeping them up to scratch. I recommend a set of Michelin tyres if you need replacements, not cheap though at over £900 for four but they improve the ride over the standard fit Dunlops. Another tip, check the headlight covers, these might need polishing as they go cloudy and make night driving unsafe. These are not cheap cars to run with £580 a year vehicle excise duty and high insurance costs. They are the prettiest cars on the road so worth it in the end.
