There’s no Euro NCAP crash rating for the XK but side airbags for the driver and front passenger are combined head and chest airbags which deploy from the seats to ensure they are in the optimum position. The front of the car is designed to cause less damage when hitting a pedestrian, and the bonnet pops up to minimise serious head injuries.

Thanks to the raked tailgate, the XK has a decent enough boot, although it’s quite shallow so you’ll struggle with larger or boxy items. A set of golf clubs will just about fit though – although it may take a few goes to squeeze them in. And while it may have four seats, the Jaguar is really designed for two people – the rear space is tiny and only good as an extra storage area.
