Economy
Value
Good value on used models.
Costs
Petrol consumption reasonable for 4x4. Service costs very reasonable from non-dealer garages.
-
On the road
Driving
Good in dry, back end slides in wet - good fun, though!
Performance
A little sluggish, but much better than the 2.5TD - good gearbox and cruising speeds. Overall, good for only a 2.5 petrol engine with no frills.

Living with it
Reliability
Never had a problem!
Image
Tough and boxy exterior - A real 4x4, not the rounded 'soft school run mums' look.
Comfort
Driving position comfortable. Rear seats a disappointment; both back-angle and legroom. Who cares? I sit in the driver's seat!
-
Security and Service
Security
Annoying alarm system that sets itself unless in Valet mode. Secure locking system and no chance of leaving the keys in the ignition unnoticed!
Service
Private dealer and servicing garages. I have never used Jeep directly, but parts are available if you search.

Problems and Ownership

Other
Indicator flashing too fast - wrong bulb had been fitted. Screen wash pipe cut by windscreen wiper.
