Value
There are an increasing number of Mk1 Cherokee TD's hitting the market. An inspection is a must as £200 spent now could save thousands later! If you are careful you can pick up a good vehicle much cheaper than a similar age Discovery or Shogun.
Costs
Not a cheap vehicle to maintain, but what 4x4 is! Dealer Servicing is expensive and quality of dealerships is hugely variable Try using one of the many Jeep Specialists who can help keep costs down.

Driving
Handles well for a 4x4, but care must be taken on cornering and breaking - ABS is a must!
Performance
Italian VM 2.5 TD is adequate and reliable, if services to manufacturers schedule

Reliability
Reliability is generally good, but look out for vehicles with work valve gear and saggy back ends - all expensive to fix.
Image
Looking a little dated now - but I love it!
Comfort
Full leather, electric seats, cd changer....

Security and Service
Security
Mine has an after market Mopar EVS2 immobiliser/alarm - after market alarms are a must!
