Summary
What does this car say about you?
We are pretty down to earth. It is not an in your face vehicle, this sums us up pretty well.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Family and friends love it, to the neighbours it's just another car I suppose.
Would you buy this car again and why?
We have not had it long, so barring any trouble, we would definitely buy another.
What are you likely to buy next?
Finances permitting, I would like to try for the 2.8 version if it is around in a few years time.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£9,995
When did you buy the car?
June 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
We paid the asking price, but we got a good price on trading our old ford puma, plus we got 6 mths tax and a full tank of fuel.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Having outgrown our previous car, we needed a decent sized family vehicle. We have owned older 4x4s as hobby vehicles before, so a more up to date car that was great looking and not boring to be in was the way to go.
What was the dealer like?
Very friendly and knowledgeable, remembered my name when I popped in a few weeks later.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It is a great drive, not built to be a traffic light burner, but the motor gives good grunt despite reports to the contrary. Will sit on the motorway at 80-odd all day. It is a firm comfortable ride, but that just keeps you more involved in the driving of the thing, rather than wafting along in a luxo-barge type thing. Managed a 300 mile Cornwall drive without driver change and felt ok at the end of it.
What's it like to park?
My old disco was a bit of a barn to park if you were not used to it, the jeep is a lot easier to manouvre, it passes my wifes small carpark at work test(just).

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The part time 4 wheel light switch stayed on when we first picked it up. The dealer sorted/replaced it, no questions.
What's most practical about your car?
Parked next to a discovery it is pretty compact, but the space inside is worked very well, I am 6 ft plus and fit very comfortably.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I do love the leather interior, also the dials when lit up are very nice to look at.We are still getting used to the cruise control.
