Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 19 - 31 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

All models are thirsty, especially the 3.7-litre V6 while parts and servicing are not cheap, either. Depreciation is better than average though.
The Cherokee performs badly on the eco front. With an average of 270 g/km CO2 across the model line-up, its emissions are quite high for a large 4x4. The range is also thirsty, averaging 27 mpg.
We’ve heard of no problems from owners. Jeeps tend to be mechanically tough, but occasionally have the odd loose bit of trim or electrical gremlin. Properly serviced previous-generation models have given above-average reliability.
