Jeep Compass verdict

Should you buy one?
The Compass is a solid car with many quality traits, although most regular buyers will be better served with less off-road oriented SUVs like the Peugeot 3008 and Hyundai Tucson,
However, if you’re looking at a Jeep you might like it for the image and the off-road tech. If that’s the case, we recommend going with the four-wheel drive, plug-in hybrid-powered Trailhawk.
What we like
For off-roading ability at this price range and segment, not much can touch it. The infotainment is quick, high-tech, and easy to use.
Interior quality levels are pretty good too. You’ll find a scratchy surface if you try hard enough, but broadly it’s much better than Jeeps of old.
What we don’t like
The drivetrain options are a bit limiting. If you want four-wheel drive, for example, your only choice is the plug-in hybrid.
The looks are pretty marmite. Especially the stripes found on the Trailhawks.
While interior storage space is good, the boot isn’t all that big.
