Summary
What does this car say about you?
Its not exactly subtle , but if you can get over the slightly erm "footballer" look , its a great aggressive looking car that really does turn heads.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I often smile when i see pedestrians turning around to take another look at the car that just passed them , its a genuinely rare care , and turns heads far more than any other car I have owned. Friends love the performance and the sound.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I'd probably buy this car again , but by the time I sell this one it will probably be illegal to own a V8 so Im making the most of it now before the "green police" stop us from driving anything fun.
What are you likely to buy next?
A used BMW 5 Series 535d for my wife (hoping to get it next week)

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£17,000
When did you buy the car?
August 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Got an excellent deal , as the big engine cars are depreciating massively. Remaining 12 months of manufacturers warranty to cover any issues.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Having had a Jeep 5.7 Ltd , i wanted something with a bit more poke. The SRT was introduced 3 months after i bought the 5.7 , and I was gutted and wanted one ever since.
What was the dealer like?
Very good , knowledgeable and seemed to genuinely want one of the SRT8's himself , so he was either just a very good salesman , or someone who really did rate the SRT8.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
best 4x4 to drive , and I've driven several different ones from BMW / MERC / Vauxhall / Ford etc.. Ultra quick , and handles well for something so heavy.
What's it like to park?
The turning circle on the SRT8 is pretty poor compared to the standard Jeeps , but due to the Parking Sensors + Parking Camera + Dipping Mirrors when in reverse(dealer has to switch this on), parking is good except for the poor turning circle (probably due to the massive wheels).

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
as with my 5.7 jeep the diagnostics system keeps reporting "service 4wd" , and more worringly it went into limp home mode once. Dealer did a software update , which has reduced the occurrences , but its due to go back again for some more tests. The "service 4wd" indicator is quite common on these jeeps , but if under warranty they should fix it but maybe not first time round.
What's most practical about your car?
car is a hot hatch killer, and sounds gorgeous. MPG is not that bad for a 6.1 ltr. If you are sensible you can get up to 21mpg , and on ultrashort runs 14, I tend to average 16mpg but i do have a bit of a lead foot , as it just sounds soo good I love to hear it and play with the car.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Accelerator Pedal from the traffic lights , for a 4x4 its quick and handles really well. Rear Parking Camera + Parking Sensors + Dipping Mirrors to show you the kerb (avoiding scuffed Alloys)
