Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 Limited 5d Auto (1996/N) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Buy carefully and you'll get a lot for your £. I bought an ex-director's car with a full main dealer history and haggled down the price 'til it was embarrassing so laughed all the way to the pumps, then didn't laugh so much :)
Costs
Parts are expensive unless you can source frm specialists. Main dealers (Charles Hurst) in N.I. are a disaster. No concept of customer service. Getting about 19mpg. Don't even want to think about that. Keep the trip computer on DTE (distance to empty).

On the road
Driving
Typical 4x4 driving experience, though better than soft-roaders I'd say. Most things are automatic or electric so while it's pretty uninvolving, it's pretty stress free.
Performance
Goes like a scalded cat in a straight line and watch the MPG readout go rapidly south!

Living with it
Reliability
Excellent. My mecahnic loves this vehicle cause its easy to service. Buy carefully and you should have no issues. Possible to source very cheap parts frm US websites.
Image
It drives the tree huggers insane and intimidates most other road users. What more could you ask for? Intending to trade up to the newer model this year. :)
Comfort
Fine given its age. Will tow/carry just about anything without complaint.
