Kia Carens 2.0 CRDi LX 5d (2005/55) Owner Review

Economy
Value
As with all Kias, this car is unbeatable value for money. It has lots of standard equipment too. How many other mid-sized MPV's can you get for under £11K?
Costs
Brilliant price new. Insurance costs very reasonable. Fuel economy not that great for a diesel but still well over 30mpg in town. The petrol engines are renowned for being thirsty so the diesel is still the best one to go for.

On the road
Driving
A decent ride with good road manners. Refinement could be better but it is a diesel and look at the price!
Performance
Surprisingly punchy and lively engine and feels faster than Kia's performance data suggests. Acceleration is good and power delivery is smooth despite the engine being vocal at times.

Living with it
Reliability
Only had the car 6 months but not a single problem and Kias seem to have a good reputation for being tough and reliable.
Image
It is an MPV ! But personally I think this is quite a smart looking car and easier on the eye than some of it's rivals.
Comfort
Once again for the money, you cannot knock this car for comfort. The seats are supportive and the cabin is roomy and airy both in the back and front. As previously mentioned refinement isn't great but on the open roads in 5th gear things quieten down.

Security and Service
Security
Only has an immobiliser and etched windows. Amazed that in this day and age, not all cars have an alarm.
Service
Not yet had a service but my wife also owns a Kia and the dealer has been friendly, helpful and courteous. Servicing costs are a bit expensive though.
