Kia Carens (2013 - 2019) 1.7 CRDi 1 5d Owner Review

In their own words
after much reasearch for a roomy practical cars versus value for money I opted for the kia carens 1.7 diesel and definately made the right choice. The comfortable semi sports driving seat with light steering and controls makes for a great long distance tourer and round town extra easy. I went for the lowest spec carens 1 as it has everything I need with aircon and cruise control. The engine is great, plenty of power for overtaking at all speeds and quiet in the cabin compared to many other cars plus good road holding, its a pleasure to drive.
loads of room, fold flat back seats plus fold down front passenger seat for long loads. Ive used the extra two seats only a few times and are ok for smaller adults and more than the child seats you get in the toyota verso , which I found were useless.
tyres are cheaper 16" than the sportage so saves money. Has a space saver spare but think would fit a full size.
early on had a water leak from the rear hatch seal but replaced under warranty but otherwise no faults and only positives from passengers for room and comfort.
drive motorways at 60 and you can actually achieve 60mpg, at 70 gets about 54mpg, drive quick everywhere and you can get it down to 45 at worst but you would have to be manic. If anyone gets less than this they have a faulty car.
no real negatives and thankfully an overlooked car as mine was a bargain.
negatives. The adustable power steering makes no difference, so what ! and I had to have the aircon regassed, but why did I bother in the uk weather. Auto stop start annoys me so I turn it off but each to their own
