Kia Ceed GT safety should be very good indeed.

Although it has not been crash-tested by EuroNCAP, the regular Ceed hatchback did and achieved a full five stars in 2012 with high scores across the board.

When it comes to safety kit there is plenty on offer as standard including Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BAS), six airbags, a seat-belt reminder warning, impact-sensing door unlocking and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points.

On the GT Tech trim you also get an automatic de-fog system, automatic-dimming rear-view mirror and Xenon adaptive headlights with headlight washers.

Like the regular Ceed hatchback, Kia Ceed GT practicality is very good.

There are plenty of storage options available in a variety of sizes from a large centre cubbie, cupholders, sunglasses holder, a useful open compartment for your mobile phone, a moderately sized glovebox and reasonably sized door pockets.

Passengers are also well taken care of, there is plenty of legroom and headroom available in the back for four adults as well as plenty of storage options like segmented door pockets, front seat sleeves and centre armrest with cupholders. There is also a reading light in the back which will be useful for passengers if travelling at night.

Boot space isn’t the biggest in its class but 380 litres is still enough room to suit most requirements. There is also plenty of handy features in the boot like clips and hooks, a net and a second tier storage compartment.

If you do need more space than the seats can be folded down easily and boot space expands up to 1,318 litres.
