Kia Ceed Hatchback (2007 - 2012) 1.6 LS 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Surprisingly economical for a 1.6 petrol with 122hp (a lot of the competition of this age can't compete with power of economy it seems). Chain driven solid engine - just be aware with the older Ceeds with this engine need the valve clearance checking/adjusting every 60k. Ours is 72k and quiet so far so not bothered yet. Easy to service at home. Space inside almost defies the car's size! Very good rear legroom and boot. Nice touches in LS spec (part leather seats, fog lights etc). Nice centre armrest, climate control, mpg trip computer, pleasant dashboard etc. A few bits like glove box door and inner door handles look and feel much cheaper but this is a cheap end car so forgiveable. Main dislike is the accelerator pedal is very sensitive, even after months of getting used to driving it, it is hard not to over-rev when setting off! And the indicator switch stalk is on the right of the steering wheel rather than the left which is a little annoying and not the natural position for UK drivers. I believe Kia switched them over to the left on slightly later models.
How reliable do you find the car?
Only issue has been front windscreen wipers going berserk and blowing the fuse when used in anything other than intermittent setting. Yet to get it investigated!Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
47mpg average and so spacious inside for two adults and kids in the back! Generous boot and decent interior!About their car
