Kia Ceed Hatchback (2012 - 2018) 1.6 GDi 3 EcoDynamics 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
We bought a Kia for the first thinking the 7 year warranty provided a good safety net. In reality it has been essential and trips to the Kia garage have unfortunately become a much hated part of family life. Warranty has recently expired and from memory we have the following replaced under warranty brake calipers, seatbelts, boot catch, central console, sat nav (X2), headlights, battery (x2), door antennae (x4) but I am sure there is more.
Fundamentally, the car did everything we wanted to and we really liked some aspects of it - notably the sat nav and interior spec (but then we did pay extra for the level 3) but it was just too unreliable for it to be a loved member of the family. We have been plagued by an electrical drain that even as the warranty expires has not been diagnosed or rectified. Variants on this problem seem to be quite common. We believe the car was fundamentally flawed from the day we collected it (we were warned that battery would take a few days to become fully charged) and it has never been resolved. Kia just seem to keep replacing the same part (door antennae) until the problem goes away or the warranty expires.
Staff at dealerships rotate very quickly making continuity of aftercare difficult yet all seem to follow the same process with the same outcome which makes it feel that we are just going the through the a process defined by Kia for difficult or known problems.
Would NEVER recommend a Kia car.
