Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 37 - 57 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Economy and insurance won’t be a problem and neither will servicing but the largest ownership cost will be in depreciation – although that’s not really a problem if you plan on keeping it for a long time.

The Cerato scores adequately on the eco front, with average emissions of 151g/km CO2 across the range. The range is frugal, averaging 48 mpg.

Reliability tends to be very good from the Hyundai and Kia and we’ve heard no reports of problems with the Cerato.
