Kia Picanto (2004 - 2011) 1.1 LX 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
The car has served my fiancee and I (and our dog) very well. If you're single or a couple, it really is all you need. It's, comfy, easy and fun to drive. The suspension is good and tight through the corners but is a bit stiff for rough roads. 'sporty', if such a word can be applied to a cheap city car. The steering is nice and responsive and it has a tiny turning circle, it's ideal round town. The engine is brilliant, not powerful but that's not the point. It's responsive and forgiving. The only car I've never stalled. Not bad on the motorway either, it'll sit at 70mph with no fuss, just a bit of wind noise. The brakes are equally as good. Four discs means this featherweight car will stop on a dime if you want it to. There's plenty of headroom and rear legroom and plenty of space on the back seat for a dog cage, and an extra passenger. It's great with the convenience of four doors. The boot is tiny however. It will accommodate a week's shopping or a weekend's worth of luggage easily, but no more. The other space is well used though, with a cubby in every spare inch and a very convenient storage tray beneath the boot. It's easy to work on if you do your own maintenance, the book even shows you how to service it. The small engine bay, however does not lend itself to large hands and the oil filter is in an inconvenient place.
If you're after a good, reliable, cheap city car and there's only one or two of you, buy it. Particularly if you're looking for a first car. If you're a family of more than two, buy a fiesta or a golf.
