Kia Picanto review (2024)

In their own words

I have the 1.0 turbo engine and find it very responsive and with a good turn of speed. It is a little noisy when revved hard but is perfectly reasonable when cruising on the motorway. I like the small dimensions of the car and it is quite chuckable around the country lanes. The small size and weight make it much more enjoyable than the Golf GTI it replaced. I cannot fault the specification and equipment fitted as standard to the car. To be honest it has more features than I really need but I am now a fan of the heated steering wheel in these winter conditions. My one criticism of the car is that some of features do not connect with each other such as the rear wiper not being activated when selecting reverse but these are minor quibbles. The car has had no faults and the service from the local Kia dealer has been excellent with pleasant staff and no issues with their work. The only problem with the car has been a puncture but even the replacement tyre price was perfectly reasonable. This has been one of my best cars, maybe not as characterful as the Citroen Saxo VTS I used to have, but it is good fun and does everything I ask of it from the short town trips, cross country blasts or the long motorway journeys with aplomb. This has been my first Kia but I have been impressed with both the car and their customer service.
