Kia ProCeed GT (2013-2019) running costs and reliability
Miles per pound (mpp)
Fuel economy
If you consider it a performance car, Kia Proceed GT running costs aren’t all that bad. Fuel economy is a claimed average of 38.2mpg, which means in the real world 30mpg is closer to what you’ll see if you drive sensibly. Expect that number to tumble if you make good use of that turbocharger, though.
There’s a big ‘but’ here though. This isn’t a performance car. It’s not fast enough or competent enough through corners, so its low fuel economy does start to look somewhat worrying. There are other rivals that not only are quicker and with better handling, but also more frugal.
Given it’s a performance car consumables can have a harder life particularly tyres and brakes.
Of course you’ll also have your seven-year warranty to fall back on, but if the car’s as reliable as the firm claims then you’ll lose more money in fuel costs than you’ll save by buying a car with such a long warranty.
Kia Proceed GT emissions are fixed at 171g/km of CO2, no matter which trim level you choose, so that puts it into road tax band H. There’s no stop/start system fitted, which doesn’t help to keep costs down.
There shouldn’t be too much to worry about regarding Kia Proceed GT reliability. Kia has come on leaps and bounds over the past few years, and nothing illustrates this more than the firm’s ability to offer a seven-year transferable warranty with all its cars.
The GT has been subjected to a rigorous testing regime to ensure excellent reliability.
