Summary
What does this car say about you?
That I don't like spending money.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all like it and find it quite roomy for the external size.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Possibly. Iam dissapointed by the fuel economy which is nowhere near what the brochure claimed. After about 4,500 miles my average speed is 29mph and average economy is 60.2mpg, not bad I know but not the 80+ that I was hoping for on the combined cycle. I wonder if the 1.4 diesel would actually have been better as at least I could have got to 6th more easily.
What are you likely to buy next?
Nothing for a long time I hope.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
December 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
Got quite a bit off the list price and more for the trade in than it was worth. If I had known it was possible to get so much off I would actually have made the purchase earlier. I wish they would just reduce their list price and then stuck to it.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Seven-year warranty, fuel economy.
What was the dealer like?
Good, very helpful.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
I really like driving it although suspect that might just be because it reminds me of my youth when I was driving very under-powered cars and crossing my fingers that they would get up the hill. The Rio is great to drive, I have no problems with the steering that has been reported elsewhere. The power really is a bit of an issue though, it is often tough to get up to sixth which means that the fuel economy is difficult to achieve.
What's it like to park?
No problems. It's a while since I drove a car without parking sensors but it is fairly short so not a big problem.

Bluetooth for phone is great. Also seven-year warranty and being so cheap to run.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Bluetooth.
