A high seating position gives a good view of the road ahead, though when it’s fully loaded, rear visibility can be a little restricted when it’s fully loaded. The dash is clearly laid-out, although some of the minor controls can be awkward to access and the stereo buttons are fiddly.

Huge amount of space inside means that there’s plenty of head and legroom for everyone. However, interior refinement isn’t up to the pace set by rivals. It’s a bit on the dowdy side and road, wind and engine noise are all intrusive, which gets worse at speed. This is particularly so with the early diesel, which is loud and gruff at speed. It may be worth seeking out models with the optional DVD player and screen to make longer trips less painful.
