Kia Sedona (2006 - 2012) 2.2 CRDi 2 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
If you are looking for a versatile 7 seater, nothing on the market does it better. Others may handle better, others may be faster, some more economical and some may be more refined, however, none can sit 7 in comfort, with rear climate controls and 7 reclining seats, no others have the same van like capacity, with all seats removed, no others have a completely flat floor right from the front seat through to the rear door - this is especially useful with young kids on long journeys when the front seat passenger can pass things easily to the rear passengers. No other MPV has the leg room - my 6'2'' son can sit easily in all of the seats, with ample leg room.
The Sedona is full of useful features; the electric sliding doors are great, the reversing camera with screen in the rear view mirror is great, the rear heating and rear air con are great. the electric rear quarter-light windows are great for the rear most passengers
I have owned the Kia for 3.5 years and covered 50,000 trouble free miles - nothing has gone wrong except the rear camera, which was fixed under the 7 year warranty.
The 190 bhp 2.2 diesel is one of the better diesels I have driven (better than the Mercedes 2.2 CDI). It is well refined, lots of torque, with as much power as this chassis needs, it has enough power to overtake, and will cruise very well in France at 82mph. It is not the most economical engine, but mine has averaged 34.5mpg over 50,000 miles
The Kia is not a sophisticated high tech vehicle, however, it is a simple, well engineered, safe, comfortable vehicle which feels like it will last for a very long time
If you are in the market for the best value second hand MPV look for a 2.2 Kia Sedona.... however, avoid the older 2.9 with its crude diesel
