Kia Sorento SUV (2015 - 2020) 2.2 CRDi KX-4 5d Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Two Sportages in with Kia means we know how Kia tick all our boxes. A change in our commute showed up the stiff Sportage ride and with growing grandkids we upgraded to the Sorento. At our time of life we like the luxuries and the KX4 delivers in bucket loads along with a much smoother, cushioned ride quality. This is not a "spirited B road" vehicle as one would expect and the whole car is excellently sprung and noise suppressed but can turn a surprising pace when required along with the confidence of a grippy AWD system. Sure, you pay for this in terms of fuel economy but I have saved a huge amount on a 3 year old former leased example that more than offsets that. A recent relaxed 100 mile motorway cruise listening to the excellent Infinity music system returned 42mpg, although our daily short commute averages 33mpg and short trips around town an understandable mid 20's. I love the rarely found two tone interior that really lifts the perception of quality, but do not care for the running boards which negate the closed sills when it comes to the back of my trousers and makes entry/exit unnecessarily difficult. When it is serviced I will have Kia remove them and I'll store them in my shed for the next owner, but that will not be for another 4 years when the 7 year warranty is drawing near and then I'll be looking for another 3 year old Sorento at half new price.
How reliable do you find the car?
Build quality as good in the Sorento as our two previous Sportages.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Lots of safety and luxury kit and excellent ride quality which is why we moved up from the stiffer Sportage.About their car
