Kia Sportage (2016 - 2021) KX-5 2.0 CRDi 182bhp auto 5d Owner Review

In their own words
As a 70+ old codger I wanted a safe reliable AWD with all the gadgets to happily drive into my dotage, with the 7year warranty it may be my last! This is excellent, neutral handlng, progressive steering, power on tap and the most comfortable environment I have found in over 50 years motoring. I thought my C Class Merc, last car, was good but I have to say Kia have stepped right up to the mark with this solid well built SUV. The only issue I have is with the Sat Nav, it is just not as good as a decent Tom Tom or Garmin, really is a bit 'bargain basement' in comparison to the rest of the cars features. The driving position adjustments are superb, if you can't find a comfortable position you have to have issues that need treatment. The auto hold feature is great during the day but it does activate the brake lights so can annoy the following car in traffic, so at night I use the electronic brake, which disengages as soon as the accelerator is depressed, magic, and so smooth. I believe it was a good buy, £6000 below list as an ex demo with 10miles on the clock and running boards thrown in by the dealer. Pity I'm not getting the same service from my local dealer who I wouldn't trust to wash it let alone service it - independent garage will do it and just comply with the Kia parts requirement to maintain the warranty. Very very happy with the car for local and distance runs, behaves exactly as it should in a competent way, why pay more money for a badge, even if Three Leg Stars and Blue Circles do look a bit prettier than a simple black badge with KIA.
