Kia Sportage SUV 1.6T GDi PHEV GT-Line 5dr Auto AWD Owner Review

In their own words
Nice styling, but that’s where it ends. It remains parked up on our drive as I now refuse to drive it. This is without doubt the worst, most dangerous vehicle we've ever had on my husbands Motability scheme. He's a wheelchair user and getting the heavy chair in and out of the vehicle was a big factor for me in the vehicle selection process. That’s not a problem on the Sportage as there is no lip on the tailgate and with the parcel shelf removed, there is ample space for the chair and ancillaries.
The main problem is the driver safety systems employed on the vehicle which make the car awful to drive, so dangerous and tedious to use. I believe these driver safety systems are employed throughout the whole KIA range and after my experience of driving the Sportage, I now refuse to get into any KIA. The common systems across the whole range are badly conceived, designed and implemented. Clearly you get what you pay for, on the face of it, these cars appear to be good value, but in reality they are cheap Korean cars, their design still in their infancy and it shows when driving one. Our model is slightly underpowered (1600cc) and a little unstable when driving at speed. The driver safety systems do the exact opposite to their intended purpose. They make the vehicle so dangerous and untrustworthy. You can disable these safety systems, but you have to disable them every time you start the car. We have written to Motability outlining the dangers of this car to see if we can exchange it for something safer otherwise were stuck with a piece of junk on our drive for the next 3 years!
