Kia Stinger Coupe GT-Line S 2.2 CRDi 197bhp ISG auto 5d Owner Review

In their own words
This is my 2nd review of this car on this site having reviewed the same car in September 2019. I am still just as enthusiastic about this car as before. Because of the Covid restrictions I wasn't able to drive as many miles as I expected but now after 11000 miles I am still convinced I made the right choice! The car is a real GT car, easy to drive on long distances. For me it is the ideal compromise if you are looking for a sportscar and a family car. First service at 15000k came at a cost of 200 euro all in. Fuel economy varies between 40 and 50 mpg. If you can avoid many short drives it should be realistically possible to get 47 mpg. I drive mostly in "smart" mode, which means that the car adapts to your drive style: you can see in which mode you are driving, for example "eco" when you are constantly driving 50 miles/hour automatically switching to "sport" when you suddenly want to overtake another car. I use the manual mode on the transmission to switch to a lower gear when driving downhill to prevent using the brakes too often. The transmission switches back in automatic mode after a short time, which I don't mind. I almost never use the lane keeping assistant but the warning for traffic willing to pass you on the right or left of your car is very usefull. Also the cross traffic warning is helpful when you are driving out of a parking space. For now my opinion stays: buy this car, it is a good alternative for the overpriced German cars. After 3 years the warranty on these German cars will expire and you are at the mercy of an importer/dealer when something goes wrong. Furthermore you will have to avoid the option list of any German car so you will miss the options which are standard on the Stinger!
