Kia Xceed SUV 3 PHEV 1.6 GDi 8.9kWh lithium-ion 139bhp DCT auto 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I've got this Kia Xceed as a temporary company car. This has got to be the worst car I've had - particularly considering price new is £36k - this does not feel like a £36k car.
It's small. Way smaller than it looks. In order to get a comfortable driving position the seat is right back and is touching the rear seat, effectively making the car a 3 seater.
The hybrid system is awful. Its rarely in full electric mode, yet the battery drains after a few miles. Comparing this with my last phev - a Skoda Octavia IV - the Skoda demolishes it.
When the engine kicks in there is a whole lot of noise, but no torque. 0-60 in 4 months. The steering doesn't feel connected to the wheels. The tyre pressure light has been on for 3 tyres for the last 3 months, won't reset and if I put anymore air in they are going to burst.
The boot is tiny. Not big enough for a weekly shop and the parcel shelf keeps falling off for some reason. There is space designed for the charger cables under the boot floor, however it isn't deep enough for them so refuses to shut properly.
The infotainment system is horrendous. Apple Carplay only works when connected by a cable. Again - this is a £36k car?! I've had to reboot (via a hidden reset button found on YouTube) the infotainment system several times as sometimes carplay doesn't connect at all. The phone system is awful - people can't hear you and they sound like they are on helium through the car speakers.
There are rear sensors and a rear camera, but no front sensors. (£36k?!)
Everything inside is cheap scratchy plastic.
The only good thing - heated seats and steering wheel could melt bone.
Seriously if you are looking to buy one of these - avoid and get anything else. Anything.
I cannot express how much I hate this car.
