Lada Riva Estate 1500 5d (1985/B) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Unbeatable value.
Costs
Extremely cheap to buy, parts are extremely cheap, just act poor and hesitant at the scrap yard, always works.

On the road
Driving
It's fine, comfortable and rides nicely, though a little crude at times. Really doesn't like bumpy corners though. Steering great, but does take a day to get used to, as it's very different to most modern cars.
Performance
Its quite OK, but not sporty. Fun on country roads.

Living with it
Reliability
Not the best, but very easy to fix. Just carry tools.
Image
Definitely an anti-style statement! Expect jokes wherever you go. I like it though, very utilitarian.
Comfort
Good, one of the reasons I bought it. No problem at all with steering, clutch or anything else.

Security and Service
Security
Less security than a cardboard box. Lost the keys once, got in it in about 4 seconds. But no-one will nick it. Will crush any modern car it hits, always wins in major collisions.
Service
Did my own servicing, no idea what dealers are like.
