Summary
What does this car say about you?
It says I am living in the past, I am skint or tight or both, and I would like to drive something Italian.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They think I was pathetic to cry when I hit the telegraph pole at the end of our road. They think the car is an ugly Alfa. They think it is cool. They think individual things about the car which I am unaware of.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I can't buy it again, there are no more cars like this to be bought anywhere. If I could buy it again I would fit some decent tyres and then maybe I wouldn't have crashed it.
What are you likely to buy next?
Not buying my next car, I am going to get someone to give me one.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£195
When did you buy the car?
July 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
The car was my first choice back in 1990 when I ended up driving, two, yes two Montegos. Not that I'm complaining at all.
What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Quick, light steering, strong brakes, good ride and handling, sweet sohc engine. I loved driving this car. Made me smile and drew interested or maybe puzzled glances on occasion.
What's it like to park?
What the heck? I don't park my cars, I get someone to park them for me. I suppose it could be relatively straight forward. The car has steering, brakes and gears a plenty.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Unfortunately I crashed it in the black ice the following winter. The car was a low mileage beauty and had no faults or or issues whatsoever.
What's most practical about your car?
Boot, and I mean a proper boot, not a poxy hatch, with split folding rear seats. Best combination you can get in a saloon car. To be fair my Montego had this feature also.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The vacuum pressure controlled economy gauge was very entertaining, most people thought it was a turbo boost guage.
