Lancia Delta 1.6 GTie 5d (1989/F) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Cheaper than any other GTi when new.
Costs
Parts are cheap thanks to standardisation across FIAT/Alfa/Lancia ranges.
-
On the road
Driving
No vices, well balanced and well engineered car. Best handling GTi I've ever driven. And I've driven EVERYTHING!
Performance
Great mid range from classic Lampredi twin cam. 2 litre would have been even better.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Without a doubt this is the toughest car I have ever driven. Twice round the clock and thrashed mercilesly every day!
Image
Rare and unusual, the few in the know appreciate it, muppets think it's a Golf!
Comfort
It has 5 doors so you don"t have to be a limbo dancer to get in the back and the suspension is compliant, not like all those other GTi"s with roller skate suspension.
-
Security and Service
Security
So rare that nobody knows how to get into it.
Service
Few and far between and bloody hopeless when you find one. Good job I'm a mechanic!

Unburstable, never given a moment's trouble despite mega thrashing.

Odds and ends, nothing like the hassle from previous Peugeot 309 though.
