Economy
Value
Not the best, you pay more for the badge than anything else. Holds a high residual, but shop around for deals. Even older models depreciate!
Costs
Servicing very pricey, especially as service intervals are every 6000 miles! Costs £70 to fill to the brim, but don't expect more than 350 mpg "urban". Motorway travelling is better, 450 to the tank.

On the road
Driving
Good and high position, solid on road and off. Not good take off speed but brilliant torque off road. Bit ship-like but then its a big off-roader.
Performance
Goes anywhere, does anything, at anytime. Just costs you more to do it in style!

Living with it
Reliability
This year; Thermostat, Electric Window Mech, 3 Door springs, Brakes - Pads and Disks Bearings. Just had cambelt, glow plugs done on a service. Fried the cylinder head and expansion tank. Need I say more! And this was a flagship!
Image
Hey, but all said and done, it's a Land Rover and they rock! Going to sell this one and buy a newer model now!
Comfort
4 adults to the Alps, 4 Adults camping, 2 adults to the Southern France. No complaints!! Even if you are tall, I am 6'2", takes 5 minutes to get used to the lower windscreen level, but no problems, everything else more than makes up for it!

Security and Service
Security
Thankfully never tested. Have had 3 lock springs break, not too hard a job to DIY, you can buy replacements on eBay for £10.

Other
Lock Springs Eternal!! If your dock lock button keeps "falling down", go to eBay and search for Discovery Door Spring, easy to fit!
