Summary
What does this car say about you?
I like a good classic 4wd made by Land Rover who only make 4wds.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They call it the truck. A truck that can do just about anything.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I'll never sell this car. But if I did loose it somehow I would probably look around for another one in good condition, although there aren't many out there.
What are you likely to buy next?
Range Rover Vogue

Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
March 1999
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes. Last of the series 1 run out sale. Got it with on road costs paid for, window tinting and Range Rover Classic alloys.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I wanted a 4WD that could do many jobs. Carry the family, dogs, go bush bashing, explore sand dunes, beaches, mud, river crossing and also be stylish for work.
What was the dealer like?
Pretty average. I told them what I wanted and all they had to do was give me a good deal.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Love driving the Disco. It's like a big truck, wide, slow and that diesel sound.
What's it like to park?
Very easy. All Range Rover Classics and Discovery's are very easy to park because they are square all round.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
It's 8 years old now, so yes many things have gone wrong due to wear and tear, but overall the car is very reliable, simple with no ABS, no airbags, no traction control, just a real basic 4WD.
What's most practical about your car?
It does everything and more. Moves huge items, tows trailers with ease and off road it never lets you down. Very tough unit.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
No gadgets in this car, but I have recently installed an Ipod accessory. The most favourite option is the centre diff lock, unbelievable pulling power for such a heavy car.
