300Tdi, the best diesel ever. Simple ,solid and easy to work on. Tows 4 tones with ease and has decent torque for off road. The seats as standard are like armchairs and as a twin sunroof there's plenty of light! It's not the fastest, but will cruise at 70 easily, and is more smooth on the motorway than a defender. The biggest problem due to age is a head gasket failure but if it's done properly and skimmed, it will run for another 100000 miles.
The perfect classic workhorse!
