Costs
With service interval now 12,000 miles, cheaper than its 200 and 300TDi predecessors.

Driving
On-toad - quantum leap all round from 200 and 300 TDi - particularly ACE. Don't know why Land Rover omitted DIFF LOCK facility - though shortly to be re-introduced!
Performance
Despite reports to the contrary, pulls smoothly and adequately. Noticeable difference with extra 25bhp over predecessors. Sensible overall balance of engine size/power/fuel economy.
